A pedra é dura,
Mas não segura
A força
abrupta
da dor de meu descontentamento;
A pedra está caída,
Queda vazia,
como dizia,
insistia,
a dor de meu descontentamento;
A pedra é solta,
contudo,
sem ponta,
amola
apenas a dor de quem não tem sentimento

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

O bicho (Manuel Bandeira)
"Vi ontem um bicho
Na imundice do pátio
Catando comida entre os detritos.
Quando achava alguma coisa,
Não examinava nem cheirava:
Engolia com voracidade.
O bicho não era um cão,
Não era um gato,
Não era um rato.
O bicho, Meu Deus, era um homem".
E aí, quantos "bichos" você viu hoje?
Na imundice do pátio
Catando comida entre os detritos.
Quando achava alguma coisa,
Não examinava nem cheirava:
Engolia com voracidade.
O bicho não era um cão,
Não era um gato,
Não era um rato.
O bicho, Meu Deus, era um homem".
E aí, quantos "bichos" você viu hoje?

If six was nine
If the all girls were mine,
I wouldn't mind.
If your boss were kind,
You wouldn't lie.
If the bob dylan were gay,
I couldn't survive.
If your friends were trusty,
You'd surmise them meticulously.
And if jimi hendrix were just singer,
So, the castles made of sand
wouldn't fall in the sea,
certainly!
I wouldn't mind.
If your boss were kind,
You wouldn't lie.
If the bob dylan were gay,
I couldn't survive.
If your friends were trusty,
You'd surmise them meticulously.
And if jimi hendrix were just singer,
So, the castles made of sand
wouldn't fall in the sea,
certainly!
Dreams (E. Allan Poe)
Oh! that my young life were a lasting dream!
My spirit not awak'ning till the beam
Of an Eternity should bring the morrow.
Yes! tho' that long dream were of hopeless sorrow,
'T were better than the cold reality
Of waking life, to him whose heart must be,
And hath been still, upon the lovely earth,
A chaos of deep passion, from his birth.
But should it be - that dream eternally
Continuing - as dreams have been to me
In my young boyhood - should it thus be giv'n,
'T were folly still to hope for higher Heav'n.
For I have revell'd, when the sun was bright
I' the summer sky, in dreams of living light
And loveliness, - have left my very heart
In climes of mine imagining, apart
From mine own home, with beings that have been
Of mine own thought - what more could I have seen?
'T was once - and only once - and the wild hour
From my remembrance shall not pass - some pow'r
Or spell had bound me - 't was the chilly wind
Cam o'er me in the night, and left behind
Its image on my spirit - or the moon
Shone on my slumbers in her lofty noon
Too coldly - or the stars - howe'er it was,
That dream was as that night-wind - let it pass.
I have been happy, tho' [but] in a dream.
I have been happy - and I love the theme:
Dreams! in their vivid coloring of life,
As in that fleeting, shadowy, misty strife
Of semblance with reality which brings
To the delirious eye, more lovely things
Of Paradise and Love - and all our own!
Than young Hope in his sunniest hour hath known.
